Eastern lowland gorilla adaptations
Since they are based in the forest and are herbivores they need to be able to eat and digest the food around them so they have flat teeth that allow them to be able to grind the plants they eat. They also have bacteria that break down cellulose, which is prominent in plants, so that it is digestible. The body structure of the Eastern Gorilla is adapted very well for its lifestyle. They have a strong upper body, long arms, fingered hands, and thumbs which all aid in walking, climbing, and food retrieval. This male will lead the group as they feed, sleep and socialize, as well as defend the group from threats or predators. Males exhibit a stereotyped threat display to predators or intruders, which may involve screaming, roaring, beating their chests, throwing things or destroying vegetation.
Changes to the environment
The eastern lowland gorilla is well adapted to the tropical rain-forest biome. The tropical rain-forest biome was larger ten million years ago and through the years it has gotten much smaller causing the habitat of the eastern lowland gorilla to get smaller. As millions of years went by the climate for my biome start to change extremely it went from 13 C to 15.5 C and a lot of animals that lived in the same biome as the eastern lowland gorilla either adapted to the environment while it was changing or they migrated to other continents. The changes of the arda biome do not affect the eastern lowland gorilla or any of the prey and predators in that area because that specific biome that it lives in barely changes throughout the years. The climate does not change throughout the years as well. These changes will cause the populations of many of the organisms living in that area to increase because they are already adapted to the climate so, they will be able to reproduce and create a species that has a high fitness. There is not much of a change in the environment in which the eastern lowland gorilla lives so the predators that eat the gorilla have not changed at all as well as the things that the eastern lowland gorilla eats.
